Who Is Coverplay?
The rise of Coverplay began long ago when a young teenager discovered his passion and talent for music.
Time and life took unexpected turns and twists until his road converged with a drive to be the best … at what and how wasn’t clear, but music and his guitar were core.
Over the years, and many bands later, he discovered the band he truly wanted.
First, a “chance” meeting … instant chemistry, Pat and Esther forged a strong bond, forming the genesis of a new, exciting and special sound together.
Their repertoire grew along with a friendship that flowed from their love of God and combining their unique musical gifts into a special sound.
Coverplay became a trio when Randylynn brought her unique vocals to the mix creating new possibilities for the band.
Crisp, sweet harmonies added a new dimension to their music as Esther and Randylynn discovered their voices blend naturally & beautifully.
The band plays various genres, and popular songs from many decades, bringing a rich, deep and memorable sound to every performance.
Now a musical family, Pat, Esther and Randylynn are excited for what’s next as they share their passion for music with others on their journey to a new level of artistry together.

Pat
“The guitar goes everywhere Pat does” as they sometimes say.
From my first paying gig at 14 in Regina Saskatchewan to playing the Convention Center in Knoxville and everywhere in between, my love of music has driven my life.
After my successful Division 1 hockey career ended, my band and I tried to get on the Ramada Inn band tour in St. Louis in 1975.
Unfortunately, disco took away the livelihood of many good cover bands back then.
Today I am more than happy playing music with my “girls,” as I refer to them, all around the greater Albuquerque area.
Esther
At 5 years old, I won a 1st place ribbon in a singing competition. Ever since I’ve had a passion for music.
At 17, accompanying a symphony orchestra on piano—my best Mozart piece, kickstarted my decision to major in music at college.
Although my life took several twists and turns (diverting my degree path to other pursuits), my desire to sing and play piano continued.
The band gives me opportunities to continue playing piano and singing as well as explore many supporting roles in making our music come alive.
I especially love bringing sweet harmonies to Randylynn’s crescendos and deep, belted phrases.
Pat’s guitar magic and background mixes add such flavor to our repertoire—a combination that brings so much enjoyment and fun to all our performances.
Randylynn
Music is woven into the deepest parts of my body, soul, mind, and spirit.
Singing has always given me the space to express, connect and share raw, heartfelt emotion with every note.
With my quirky, eclectic, and radiant energy, I bring joy and honesty to every performance.
Together with my bandmates, we share the same passion and authenticity, growing as individuals and as a band, and coming together as one.
When we play, it’s a heartbeat, a feeling, and a spark of connection we share with everyone listening
